Flight

I had the privilege today to attend a Pow Wow put on by the Red Hawk Council. It took place at Bear Mountain in NY. They had a birds of prey demonstration. So awesome! These are pictures of a Harris Hawk, which are native to the Southwest. (Southwest gets all the good stuff). Part of the demo was to have a youngster from the audience run (fast) with bait on the end of the rope. This kid got really into it. Even in a more controlled environment than I normally shoot in, it’s NOT easy. haha….. 🙂 I did learn today that the Peregrine falcons have been clocked at 270 mph and have been seen by pilots at 14000 feet! The wonders of creation never cease to amaze me. These were taken with my 70-200mm with 1.4 converter, f5.6, 1/1250, ISO 800. Of all things to forget, half the time I forgot to zoom in, so one is at 158mm, the other at 280mm.
