This guy was flying around the lake looking for his/her mate. He did fly close at one point and I was surprised at how much noise his wings made. Taken with my T1i, 70-200mm lens + 1.4 converter. Shot at 280mm, aperture 7.1, Shutter 1/800, ISO 200. Slight curves adjustment and sharpening in Aperture 3.

    It’s interesting how the tree branches help with the composition of this photo; helps frame the distance, I think.
