We had our local St. Patty’s day parade yesterday. Of course, Irish Wolfhounds are well represented and one came by to visit our Seeing Eye pups. He was well received and the pups were very curious about him.

•March 13, 2011 • 1 CommentFinal sundown of 2010
•January 1, 2011 • 7 CommentsI realized today I don’t think I made one themed post this month. But, I wanted to thank everybody. I learned so much and really enjoyed doing the themes and visiting the other blogs and making new “virtual” friends from all over. I hope to continue with the 365. I took a final sundown shot today. Fortunately, we had some color in our skies. I really kinda like the original photo better than what I did with Elements, but wanted to give it a little party effect. Plus, I have to dust off Elements so I can contribute something worthwhile over at the Village.
Happy New Year everyone!! It’s been a great year and hope we will all have another one.
Ginger
•December 18, 2010 • 17 CommentsThanks to all for your kind comments. I am thrilled to have her back and it’s so good for Odie. Of course, having 2 alpha dogs is making life interesting. Beauty (my lab) just stays out of the way. The good news is that I won’t have to join a gym to get exercise. I did feel bad that she wasn’t going to be used as a guide dog, however, she will help raise puppies!
Anyway, here’s a couple shots of my baby.

Busy, busy
•December 14, 2010 • 3 CommentsJust wanted to drop in and say hello. I’ve been visiting the blogs as I have opportunity though not much chance to comment, but I have been so very busy. Not sure why, either, but have barely even taken a picture in almost 2 weeks. Yesterday I got the sad news that Ginger was being dropped from the Seeing Eye. Having been kenneled for so long she was developing distractions while in harness. Anyway, the up side of that is she is coming home to me. Today.
I’m sure I will post a pic of her return, though. Hopefully my life will not be reduced to sweeping, scooping and walking. Haha. She’s a high energy dog. Odie is not and has spoiled me. So, I guess her purpose is to be my forever dog. I hope to be able to get her into some sort of therapy work though. We’ll see.
Til later-and I’m enjoying all your photos!

•December 5, 2010 • 8 CommentsI currently use a MacBook Pro 15″ laptop with a matte screen. I’m considering a monitor to give me a little more screen real estate, but, of course, those new iMacs jumped out and said “take me home”! LOL But, they all have glossy screens. In the store, the reflections weren’t too bad, and of course, the colors do pop but I’m wondering how it is in real life. So, If you don’t mind commenting and letting me know what you use and any thoughts you have, that would be great. At the end of the day, I probably am not buying a new computer (due to lack of $$) but it will still be under consideration and your input would be invaluable.
Thanks!
Thank You
•December 2, 2010 • 1 CommentTo everyone who made comments and suggestions on my Retro post. I sent the image onto the gentleman in the photo and he asked if he could use it in a show tonight.
As I said, it’s been quite a while since I’ve been in Elements between the photoblog and trying to learning Aperture 3 (& I’m a slow learner!! haha) I did need a little push. Hopefully, hosting the challenge over at the Village will get me back in touch.
Retro Redux
•December 2, 2010 • 7 CommentsAt the behest of others, I revisited the image I used for the theme. Such great suggestions! I thank you all! I really haven’t used Elements in a long time, being so busy taking pictures, I’ve forgotten what it can do for an image. I sort of followed a Corey Barker vid (on my iPad, of course) but really only followed adding paper and the blend modes. I then added the antique photo effect from the effects palette. The second image is the original without any editing(for Ron
).
